Independent sourcing service. Not a named-brand builder desk and not a fabrication plant.

CorePath Sourcing factory quotation scope review

CorePath Sourcing reads the brief, asks factories for alternative steel systems, and lines the replies up only when the scope matches. The desk is an independent sourcing partner. It does not fabricate primary frames and it does not enroll anyone in a named builder program.

Two quotations are not the same price until the columns match

CheckShell or kitInstalled or turnkey path
Primary frameHot-rolled or built-up rigid frame, reactions listedSame frame plus erection sequence and crane plan
Secondary framingPurlin, girt and brace package by bay spacingSame package, plus who installs it and who supplies flange braces
EnvelopePanel or sheet, insulation value stated, trim listedEnvelope plus sealants, openings and any fire-resistance rating
Foundation interfaceAnchor-rod plan issued, slab by othersAnchor rods may still be by others; say so in writing
Freight and taxEx-works or delivered, destination namedDelivered plus offload, and local tax called out or excluded
DocumentsDrawings and calculations for the quoted systemSame set, plus erection drawings and a weld procedure if AWS D1.1 is invoked

If one supplier prices a shell and another prices an erected building, CorePath Sourcing will not average the two numbers. The buyer chooses which column is the real purchase, then unanswered cells go back to the factories. A comparable row names the rigid frame, secondary framing, purlin, girt, bay spacing, clear span, eave height, wind speed, ground snow load, seismic design category and fire-resistance rating. One illustration is 90 ft by 180 ft, a 26 ft eave height, 25 ft bays, a 90 ft clear span, 120 mph wind, exposure C, 10 psf snow, a 20 psf design live load, a 5 psf collateral load, an R-19 roof, an R-13 wall and a 16 ft door. A second row with a 50 ft clear span and a 16 ft eave height is not the same building.

Work the desk actually does

  • Normalize the requestRewrite use, geometry, loads and jurisdiction into one sheet so each factory sees the same design basis.
  • Ask for named evidenceRequest the manufacturer, the plant if stated, the steel grade, the coating, and the code edition used in the calculations. A homepage badge is not that file.
  • Separate money linesKeep material, freight, tax, erection and optional cranes on different lines. A single lump sum hides the scope that changed.
  • Return deviationsWhen a supplier substitutes a bay spacing or a panel, the change is marked for the buyer before anyone treats it as accepted.

Sample panels, a site visit or a third-party inspection can be requested later. They are not included just because an inquiry was sent. The buyer and the project engineer still accept the frame.

Questions that change the quotation

Which costs need their own line?

Material, coatings, openings, insulation, freight to the destination, offload, anchor rods, slab design, erection, crane time, permits and sales tax. If a line is silent, treat it as excluded until the supplier writes it in.

What is a usable quantity?

One building, a count of identical modules, or a phased release. Repeat geometry can share engineering effort; a second clear span usually cannot.

When is a standard building the wrong comparison?

Unusual spans, a mezzanine, a crane, a high seismic design category, or a local energy rule that the published bay table never saw. In those cases a custom model is the honest quote, even if it takes longer.

Can the desk issue a code stamp?

No. IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360 and AWS D1.1 are documents to request for the quoted system and the project jurisdiction. CorePath Sourcing does not hold those as its own credentials.

The desk reviews your brief and contacts possible factories. Read the Privacy Policy. Stock, price and code compliance remain unconfirmed until the supplier answers this specification.
